As you can imagine, my company MIKEYBIKEY has stopped its activities for the meantime. It will open as soon as biking is allowed in Tel Aviv and the 1st tourist calls (or writes an email) to ask for a bike tour.
WoooW, how could I have imagined such a situation one month ago?
At that time I had plenty of groups, all of us having loads of fun, enjoying the cool vibes, biking through the streets of Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa. We cycled through markets, tasted delicious street food, visited Art galleries and sometimes even indulged into some special Israeli boutique wine or beer.
Back then I felt my customers were filling up their batteries with positive energies and enjoying their freedom. For me biking is not only a way of making a living, it is more about sharing experiences with my groups, which give me the feeling my own batteries are also filled up. How lucky am I to be able to work with my passion – biking.
These days I am taking the chance to relax, read, do some gardening, zoom all over the world and Netflix is also on my list. In the past some of my customers had asked me if I had ever watched Fauda, a very successful Israeli action series, and I was embarrassed to say I had not…but now, I took the time to catch up and watch it. Talking about Netflix, in addition to Fauda, I can highly recommend Unorthodox and Freud, which I enjoyed thoroughly.
This period made me realize, again, how I take things for granted. A simple habit as sipping a cup of coffee with friends at the Port in Tel Aviv has become an impossible pleasure.
But time does not stop…. and there will definitely be a day after. So, I am thinking, fantasizing and planning that day. I can only imagine what it will mean for all of us to be able to travel again and enjoy the freedom to move as we wish.
I firmly believe that being outdoors will be top on the list. As my motto says “ biking is the best way to travel”, and when we bike, we feel the breeze, I could risk saying that biking & freedom go together.
People will not give up travelling and I can imagine that they will be looking for a safe place to fly to. So, I went to Google and asked for “the safest places to travel to in the world after corona” and I was pleased to see Israel high among the destinations on the list.
Last by not least, when possible, I would like to invite you to join me on the coolest bike tours around Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa.
In the meantime, stay home, safe & healthy, so that we can meet as soon as this “wave” is over.
